Every clean day counts. Let someone count them with you.

NoHarm keeps track of your days free from addiction, asks how you are once a day, marks every milestone, and keeps the people who have your back one message away.

Why NoHarm

Recovery is mostly ordinary days.
They deserve to be noticed.

The hard part is rarely one big moment. It is the quiet evening, the week nobody asked, the milestone that slipped past unmarked. NoHarm is built for those.

The count keeps itself

Your streak runs from the day you actually stopped, without you keeping track, and your longest one is kept as your personal best.

Someone asks, every day

Once a day, NoHarm asks one question. A single tap answers it, and on your phone it can remind you at 9 PM.

You are not doing this alone

Add the few people you trust. They see your streak, you see theirs, and a private conversation is always one tap away.

How it works

Up and running in a minute

No long forms, no questionnaire about your past. Three steps, and the counting starts.

Sign in with Google

Pick a username and confirm you are 18 or older. No password to remember, and nothing is ever posted to your Google account.

Start your streak

From today, or from the day you really stopped — weeks ago counts too. The ring starts filling straight away.

Check in each day

One question, one tap. Unlock badges as the days add up, and bring the people who matter along.

Why it's different

Free, open and honest — on purpose

Most apps pay for themselves with your attention or your data. NoHarm does neither, and you do not have to trust us on that: you can check.

Free, for good

No subscription, no premium tier, no trial that runs out. Every feature is for everyone, and nothing is held back to sell to you later.

Open source

The whole app is public on GitHub — the app and the server. Anyone can read exactly what it does with your data, instead of taking our word for it.

Transparent about the hard parts

The Privacy Policy says what is encrypted and what is not, who can read a conversation and when, and how long everything is kept — in numbers, not "as long as necessary".

No ads, no trackers

No advertising, no analytics, no data brokers. Your recovery is never a product, and nothing about you is sold or shared for profit.

Your data, your call

Download everything NoHarm holds about you whenever you want, and delete your account at any time. Your recovery data is only kept with a separate yes.

Private by default

Only the friends you accept see your streak. No public profile full of numbers, no feed, no follower counts.

Moderated by people

Every report is read by a person, not an algorithm, and anyone moderation acts on is told what was decided and how to appeal.

Nothing to install

It runs in any modern browser, on your phone or your computer. Sign in and you are in.

Features

Everything you need, nothing you don't

No feed, no follower counts, no strangers in your inbox. Just your days, your milestones and your people.

A daily check-in that meets you where you are

Once a day, NoHarm asks one question: all clean today?

  • "Yes" keeps your streak going, with one tap.
  • Missed a few days? The next check-in asks about each one, so the count stays honest.
  • If you slipped, you say so. A fresh streak begins in the same moment, and your history — personal best included — is kept.

Friends who keep you honest

Accountability works best with people you chose. Find someone by username and send a request; once they accept, you can follow each other's progress.

  • Only friends see your streak, your badges and when you are online.
  • Get a notification when someone sends or accepts a request.
  • Remove or block anyone, at any time.

Private, one-on-one conversations

For the hard evenings and the good news alike. Chat with any friend, just the two of you — no groups, no public replies.

  • See when your friend is typing, and when your message was read.
  • Notifications for new messages, which you can switch off.
  • Messages are encrypted in storage.

A space that stays safe

People come here at a vulnerable moment, so NoHarm takes behaviour seriously.

  • Report anyone from their profile. They are never told who reported them.
  • A real person reviews every report — never an algorithm.
  • If moderation ever acts on your account, you are told what was decided, why, and how to appeal.
Milestones

Ten milestones on the way to a year

Close together at the start, when every day is work, and further apart as the new routine takes hold. Each one unlocks a badge and a few words for the day you reach it.

Your data

Private by design, honest by default

A recovery app holds things people do not say out loud. Here is what NoHarm does with them. The Privacy Policy has every detail.

  • No ads, no analytics, never soldThere are no trackers in the app, and your data is never used for advertising or passed to anyone who does.
  • Your recovery data needs its own yesClean days and check-ins are health information, so NoHarm asks for them separately. Say no and the rest of the app still works; withdraw later and every streak is erased.
  • Signing in with GoogleNoHarm receives your email, your Google account ID and your profile picture — only to create your account and show your picture to others.
  • Encrypted, and plain about howMessages and personal details are encrypted in storage. It is not end-to-end encryption: a moderator reads a conversation's last messages only when someone in it files a report.
  • Take it with youDownload everything NoHarm holds about you from Settings, whenever you want, as a file.
  • Leave whenever you likeDelete your account from Settings. It is erased for good after 30 days — a window in case you change your mind.

NoHarm walks beside you. It is not medical care.

It is a tracker and a way to stay close to people in recovery. It is not treatment or therapy, nobody in it is a clinician, and nobody is watching to make sure you are safe. It works best alongside the help you already have — or as a nudge to find some.

Outside Brazil, findahelpline.com lists crisis lines by country.

Questions

Before you start

The things people usually want to know first.

Is NoHarm really free?

Yes, completely and permanently. There is no subscription, no premium tier and no advertising, and no feature is held back for paying users. It is built and run by one person who wanted it to exist.

Is NoHarm open source?

Yes. The app and the server are public on GitHub — LeoGotardo/noHarm (MIT licence) and LeoGotardo/noHarmBack (Apache 2.0). You can read how your data is stored and who can see it, report a problem, or suggest a change.

What happens if I relapse?

You tell the check-in, and a new streak starts in that same moment. Nothing is deleted: your history and your personal best stay, because the days you had still happened.

Can I count days from before I joined?

Yes. When you start your streak you can choose the day you actually stopped, and the milestones you have already passed are yours straight away.

What if I forget to check in?

Nothing is lost. The next time you open the app, the check-in asks about each day since the last one, and you mark the ones that were clean.

Who can see my streak?

Only the people you accept as friends. Anyone else who finds your profile sees your username and picture, and nothing about your recovery.

Are my messages private?

They are between you and your friend, and encrypted in storage. They are not end-to-end encrypted: if one of you reports the other, a moderator can read the last 20 messages of that conversation to decide the report. Nobody reads them otherwise.

Why do I have to sign in with Google?

It means no password for NoHarm to store or for you to forget, and every account belongs to a real email address. NoHarm only receives your email, account ID and picture.

Where can I use it?

In any modern browser, on your phone or your computer, at noharm.site. Apps for Android and iPhone are in the works.

What if someone bothers me?

Block them from their profile: they can no longer see your profile or message you. You can also report them, privately; a person reviews every report.

How do I get my data, or delete it?

Both are in Settings. "Privacy & data" downloads everything as a file; "Delete account" erases it all after a 30-day window in which you can still change your mind.

Who is behind NoHarm?

NoHarm is built and run by Leonardo da Silva Gotardo, in Londrina, Brazil. Both inboxes are read by a person: questions and privacy requests go to contact@noharm.site, appeals of a moderation decision to support@noharm.site.

Something missing, something confusing, something you would love to see. Every suggestion is read by a person.

Opens your email app, addressed to suggestions@noharm.site.

Today can be day one.

Or day forty-seven. Wherever you are, NoHarm will count it with you — free, private, and one day at a time.
